28 Sqn 'First Supersonics' was the first unit of IAF to go supersonic in level flight. The unit was raised in 1963 with the MiG-21 Type-74 or F-13, with seven pilots having been trained in the USSR. The unit took limited part in 65 war but showed its mettle in the 71 war, where it put the Type-77 to use in all roles in the eastern theatre. The unit converted to the MiG-29B Fulcrum in 1987 and flies the MiG-29UPG today. This arm patch of the Supersonics has been tailored for the UPG now.
